This week we visit the farmers market outside Phipps Conservatory in Oakland. Elizabeth Schandelmeier Gilgunn of Slow Cooked Pittsburgh guides us in picking out farm-fresh items for dinner on a hot summer day. Elizabeth’s blog, “Let’s Blog About Food,” highlights the importance of local and organic food. We start at the Phipps market this week, and next week, we’ll join Elizabeth at her home in Squirrel Hill for a delicious, locally-sourced meal cooked with the items from Phipps.
